FILMMAKERS

JENN NIELSEN (Director, Writer, Producer) moved to New York City in 2002 to work as a museum educator for institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum and The Museum of Modern Art. She has had the honor to work for international artists and designers such as Todd Oldham, Pablo Helguera, Julia Mandle, Anna Galtarossa, Daniel González, and Jesper Just. Her personal work includes collaborations such as F.E.A.S.T. (Funding Emerging Art Through Sustainable Tactics) and May Day Radio, projects using tools of social engagement and grassroots community organizing to support individual agency and expression.

WILLOW ROBIN (Director of Photography) was so inspired by Irving's character that she decided to go behind the camera as Irving traveled cross-country. As an NYC-based film editor in commercial post production she was able to combine her knowledge of film, empathetic approach to portraiture and friendship with Irving to capture his dynamic spirit.

MELISSA MEDINA (Producer) is a graphic designer by trade, but has also always had a love and fascination for the power of film and story-telling, especially through documentary film. As a lover of all things art and design related, she was excited to be introduced to Irving and his artwork through her long time friend, Jenn Nielsen. This is a first time producing effort for Melissa, which is why it's been all the more exciting.

MACHA TSARENKOV (Producer) discovered a passion for research and visual storytelling after she directed, produced and edited her first short film Deux en Un in 2014. Her expertise in art history and her background in art business uniquely position her to bring Irving's story to life.

RACHEL WEBSTER (Supervising Editor) is a Creative Partner (Producer / Editor) at Captain & The Fox. Before co-founding C&F in 2006, Rachel worked as an Associate Producer for “NOW with Bill Moyers,” a weekly newsmagazine on PBS. There she developed the skills and passion for finding important stories and telling them artfully and with purpose. In 2004, she began editing independent feature films and documentaries including Pindemonium, New Orleans Mon Amour (both of which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival) and Paradise (now in MoMA’s permanent collection). At C&F, Rachel oversees all editorial and production. When she’s not working, she’s running after her two kids in Brooklyn.
